The Federal Police Munich has issued a warning after two thefts on long-distance trains heading toward Munich. According to a statement released on Tuesday, valuable jewelry and clothing worth around €40,000 were stolen within a few days. Officers advised passengers to keep their luggage in sight during longer journeys and to store valuables securely.

On Monday evening, an unknown thief stole a suitcase from a 55-year-old woman while she was traveling on a Railjet service from Innsbruck to Munich. The suitcase contained several gold rings, a diamond ring and high-quality clothing. Police estimated the total loss at about €21,500.

A similar incident occurred on Friday afternoon on a high-speed train between Nuremberg and Munich. A 60-year-old passenger had placed her suitcase on a luggage rack. When she stepped off the train, she discovered that the suitcase had been opened and searched. Jewelry worth approximately €18,500 was missing. Investigations into both cases are still ongoing.
